Golf Holiday Itinerary
Day 1
Arrive at Cape Town International. You’ll be welcomed at the airport by a Drommedaris Golf Guide, who will assist with your luggage and transfer you in comfort to Steenberg Hotel and Winery, located at the Steenberg Estate, Constantia.
After checking in your guide will take you on a relaxing full day tour of Cape Town’s tourist attractions. Visit Table Mountain, the Bo-Kaap, Boulders and the Castle of Good Hope.
Day 2
Tee off at Steenberg Golf Course after breakfast. After golf you’ll be meeting your guide, who will transfer you to the V&A Waterfront. Explore the V&A Waterfront at your own pace and return to the hotel after dinner.
Day 3
Meet your guide at reception after breakfast. Today you’ll embark on a full day wine tasting tour. The Cape Winelands are surrounded by majestic mountain ranges and fertile green valleys. The region has a Mediterranean climate and the winter rainfall of the south-western Cape helps producing some of the best wines in the world.
Towns and villages in the Cape Winelands have many historic homesteads, museums and monuments to discover. Visit famous wine estates such as Boschendal and La Motte before returning to the hotel.
Day 4
After breakfast you’ll be transferred to Arabella Golf Course. This championship parkland course, designed by the celebrated South African golf course architect Peter Matkovich, has spectacular views across the Bot River lagoon and across the Kogelberg mountain range. Arabella offers one of the best and most challenging golf experiences in South Africa.
After golf you’ll be visiting the nearby town Hermanus. This location is regard as the best land based whale watching destination in the world. Enjoy a drink at one of the cafes overlooking the bay and see the majestic giants of the ocean swimming a mere stone’s throw away. Return to the hotel before dinner.
When it’s not whale season, you can opt to visit Cape Point, located at the Cape of Good Hope Nature Reserve.
Day 5
Check out after breakfast. Meet your guide at reception for your transfer to Cape Town Airport, where you’ll be boarding your short flight to George.
Upon arrival at George Airport you’ll be welcomed by a Drommedaris Golf Guide, who will assist with your luggage and transfer you in comfort to the luxurious Pezula Resort Hotel in Knysna. Check in and spend the remainder of the day relaxing beside the pool or at the spa.
Day 6
Enjoy breakfast and meet your guide at reception. You’ll be transferred to Simola Golf Course. This course is the first Jack Nicklaus Signature course on the Garden Route, reflecting the maestro’s philosophy of attuning the layout and design to the natural lie of the land.
After golf you’ll be going on a guided tour of Knysna and other attractions on the Garden Route, such as Storms River and Nature’s Valley. Return to the hotel before dinner.
Day 7
Tee off at Pezula Golf Course after breakfast. Built high up on the cliff tops of the East Knysna Head, the Pezula 18 hole Championship Golf Course designed by Ron Fream and David Dale, runs like an emerald ribbon through the olive greens of its pristine Southern Cape fynbos surroundings. Spend the rest of the day at leisure at Pezula.
Day 8
Check out after breakfast and meet your guide at reception for your transfer to Fancourt Golf Resort, home of the 2003 Presidents Cup. Check in and spend the remainder of the day relaxing beside the pool or at the spa.
Day 9
After breakfast you’ll be teeing off at Fancourt Outeniqua Golf Course. Designed by legendary Grand Slam golfer, Gary Player, it is similar in character to its sibling, the Montagu, and its challenging design and fine conditioning will ensure an excellent test for all levels of golfers. Spend the rest of the day discovering Fancourt at your own pace. Half day tours to interesting locations around the Garden Route can be booked at Fancourt Reception.
Day 10
Play a round of golf at Fancourt Montagu after breakfast. The Montagu is a much celebrated parkland course and has been ranked as the number-one golf course in South Africa in the past. Spend the remainder of the day rejuvinating body and mind at the world renowned Fancourt Health Spa.
Day 11
Enjoy breakfast and a relaxing morning at the hotel before checking out. The Fancourt Chauffeur will transfer you to George Airport where you’ll board the short flight back to Cape Town.
Collect your luggage at Cape Town Airport and head to the International Departures Terminal, where you can do some last minute duty free shopping before boarding your flight back home.
